In some cases, once you print a document, there is one additional step before the print will come out: "releasing" the job with PaperCut. This will likely happen to you due to one of the following cases:
  • You are printing to a copier
  • You have the option to bill prints to a department (in which case you must manually release every job, even those that you pay for yourself)
  • You are printing from a mobile device (sometimes an issue)

To release a job, go to . You'll be asked to sign in (using your normal ("Kerberos") credentials), after which you will see a screen that looks like this:

The PaperCut Web Client after signing inYou can see recent print jobs, as well as your remaining print balance. When you attempt to print a job that must be released via PaperCut, you'll see this:

The prompt to release a print job from PaperCutYou'll see the name of the document, the printer you selected, the page count, and the cost you will be charged. You'll also be able to choose which account should be charged if you are authorized to do so. To release the job, simply select "Print" and it should come out of the printer shortly.
