Media Retention Policy
Due to a change in our licensing with Panopto in 2025, we have updated our media retention policy for media stored in Panopto as follows:
- Media not viewed after 13 months will go into an archived state. Media in an archived state won’t be immediately available, but can be dearchived at any time. Read below on how to dearchive media.
- Videos in an archived state with a creation date of over three years ago will be permanently deleted from the Panopto server.
This change was announced in January 2025 and will take effect on June 1, 2025.
Dearchive of media
Archived media can be found by clicking on the "Archived" icon at the right of the menu options when viewing a Panopto media library. Dearchiving of media can take 1-3 days, after which the media will be viewable. Click on the media item to start the dearchiving process.
