How do I submit a facilities request?

What are the front desk hours for facilities services?

Our front desk is open Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Learn more about how to contact us.

I put in a request over the weekend, and scheduled an appointment for Monday. Why didn't facilities show up? When can I expect them?

Facilities services is not open on the weekend, so requests submitted on Saturday or Sunday don't get processed until Monday. If you submit a request on a weekend, schedule an appointment for Tuesday or later to ensure that the request will be processed in time. For emergencies that occur after hours and need immediate attention, call Community Safety and they will contact the on-call maintenance technician: 503-788-6666.

Will I be charged for repairs in my residence hall room?

In general, facilities does not charge for work they perform or for repairs made. For information about charges for repairs made to student residence hall rooms, contact residence life.

Are there bike lockers on campus?

Yes. Review our bike lockers page.

Are there alternative modes of transportation on campus?

Yes. BIKETOWN and Lime are now on campus. To ensure pathways and building-access areas are clear of parked scooters, there is designated onsite parking for scooters in three areas.

How do I get help with moving from one office to another, or from one residence hall room to another?

Submit a facilities request or call us (503-777-7283). Faculty and staff members can reach out to facilities for help moving, and need to let IT and other affected offices know about the move.

When does water testing happen? How does this affect me?

Campus water is tested annually, usually during winter break. Depending on where we collect samples from, you may not be able to access some of the sinks or water fountains in your building. We ensure that there are other sinks and water fountains available within the building to minimize any inconvenience, and we put signs on fixtures that cannot be used during testing. 

Where do I drop off waste, and how do I arrange for trash pickup in my office? What about hazardous waste? Batteries? Light bulbs?

For regular trash pickup, submit a facilities request, or call our front desk (503-777-7283). For informaton about disposing of other waste, including hazardous waste, batteries, and light bulbs, visit Reed's waste management page.
